I’m Allison Casey, a 26 year old  travelin’, cardigan’ wearin’ ukulele playin’, treehouse dwellin’ writer and certifiable nerd living, working, and playing in the beautiful City of Oaks - Raleigh, NC.

It was a dark and stormy afternoon in Montauk.

 At least, that’s the way I’ve always pictured it. I have no actual memory of the event. 

 I was three years old, with a speech impediment and no swimming ability. But, like most things, I didn’t let a little old thing like not knowing how to swim stop me from trying.  I jumped into the deep end of the pool, sinking like a rock.

My mom dove in after me in all her clothes, pulled me out, dried me off and kissed me a hundred times. And then I uttered the words for which I would become famous.

 “See me swim?”

 And here I am, as an adult, jumping in feet first all over again into whatever opportunities are presented to me, attempting to quell my wanderlust, and crossing items off my life list.
